Trip Plan
Transfer from the airport to your Riad. Dinner and night.
Departure around 8 a.m. from Marrakech. Direction the Tichka pass 2,260 m, the highest road pass in Morocco, grandiose panoramic landscape, forests of holm oaks, pine trees, several beautiful Berber villages clinging to the cliffs. We then cross the Tichka pass. We pass through Telouat to visit the ancient kasbah Du Glaoui and the Ounila valley, then the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunch on site then continuation to Ouarzazate. Visit to the film studio. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, departure to Skoura located on the road of a thousand Kasbahs. Visit the magnificent Kasbah of Amridil. Then departure towards the Valley of Roses, crossing the Berber villages. Lunch in the Dadès gorges, short walk in the valley of figs, and return to the Valley of Roses where we spend the night in a guest house.
Departure to Tineghir and visit the Todra Gorges and green gardens, without forgetting the meeting of nomads and their herds of goats.
We then leave towards Merzouga taking the Erfoud road, famous for its fossilized marbles. We pass through Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet and we head along the track towards the Merzouga desert. Arrived at the foot of the dunes for the bivouac located in the middle of Erg Chebbi. Sunset, mint tea, dinner, entertainment and night under the tent or under the stars.
Full day around Merzouga to enjoy the desert.
Departure from the dunes of Merzouga towards Tazzarine, through beautiful desert and mountainous landscapes, Oasis, kasbah to the Drâa valley via N'Kob and Tansikht. Descent towards the green Drâa wadi in Agdz, crossing the Berber villages. Dinner and night in Agdz
After a good breakfast, return to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and past the site of the Kasbah of Tifoultout (5km from Ouarzazate), former residence of Pasha Glaoui whose heir Medhi Glaoui, writer, currently lives in Paris.
It is the most recent Kasbah in the area and it is sometimes rented by different hotels to organize large, typically Berber evenings. Unfortunately it is not always open to visitors, we will visit it if possible. Regardless, the surrounding setting is magnificent....
We take the main road to Marrakech. Arrival at your hotel late in the afternoon.
End of this wonderful 8-Day desert tour, then departure to the airport.
