Erg Chigaga – Discover the best of the Sahara Desert of Erg Chigaga from Marrakech. Also this desert tour starts early in the morning from your accommodation towards the Desert. On this tour, we will pass by small Berber villages and spend the night in a Berber camp in the middle of the high dunes and take a short camel ride.
Moreover, This desert tour gives you the chance to experience the best of the Sahara desert. You will visit Zagora on the way then driving via Draa valley and Low Atlas Mountains. We would definitely stop for the pictures opportunities.
Trip Plan
After pickup from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech, we will leave early in the morning on a 4x4 tour to the desert. We will cross the Tizi n Tichka pass, then we will visit the Kasbah of Telouet before descending towards the magnificent Ounila valley where we will take a break to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After the Tizi n'Tinifift pass we will cross the Draa valley passing by magnificent oases, palm trees and ksours. Night and dinner in Zagora.
After a short visit to the famous Koranic library of Tamegroute and the pottery workshops, we will continue our excursion to M'hamid el Ghizlane crossing magnificent sandy landscapes and desert vegetation. Arriving in Chegaga, we will go directly to a magnificent bivouac camp set up in the heart of the dunes. You will have the opportunity to take part in a camel ride in the dunes or take a short hike to admire the extraordinary landscapes of the dunes and the desert… Dinner and night in a Bivouac
After breakfast we will leave towards the foothills of the Anti-Atlas crossing the immense plateau LAKE IRIKI, Foum Zguid, Taznakht and Wawzguit or the capital of Berber carpets and saffron. We will also pass through Amerzegane to reach the Tizi N’Tichka pass on our way back to Marrakech.
